Estero’s Butterfly Garden
Spring Creek Nature Park & Butterfly Garden is a serene place to relax, enjoy and learn about nature in Estero, Florida.
The website says anytime is a good time to experience the wild landscape of southwest Florida, but the best time to see butterflies is when there is light and the temperature is over 70 degrees F and not too windy—which is basically every day in this neck of the woods.
Weekly Events
Every Wednesday from 9-11 a.m., the Weekly Garden Gathering meets with the public and master naturalists and gardeners to give everyone a chance to learn more about Florida’s native plants and the ‘flying flowers’ they attract.
Knowledgeable volunteers provide formal and informal tours of the garden as well.
About the Butterfly Garden
The park consists of three different eco-zones: mangroves, a meadow area and a pine stand.
This gives nature lovers the opportunity to see more butterflies, diverse plant species and wildlife while truly experiencing their native environment.
Flying Flowers, Birds and Plant Species
There are approximately 150 species of butterflies in Florida—105 of them are in Southern Florida and 79 call Southwest Florida their home.
So, add this amazing place to your list of fun things to do around Pelican Landing, Bonita Springs and Estero.
And if you go, tell us about your experience in the comments section.
